I have always used Google Docs professionally in my job and found that it possessed very powerful tools that help a lot in organization. In Education I feel that these tools can help not only the students but the instructors. Google drive is perfect for students starting at grade 9 in STEM. The reason I say his is because students are starting to be exposed to professional writing and research techniques. Google Drive itself helps the student and teacher with organization and both the sudden and the teacher can edit their assignments on the go if they open it on Google drive. Another reason why Google drive is very effective in the classroom is because of its availability in different platforms. You are able to open the drive in your phone, tablet and your computer. So when you submit an assignment you can view it and make corrections as needed.
It helps students by keeping track of their
assignments, and understands when certain assignments are due. In the
instructors end, this can facilitate organization, grading, assignment tracking,
and participation. Google Drive can be used similar to dropbox. This can definitely
encourage student engagement in assignments because they will be able to see others
students work, so this way they will know if they are doing he assignment
correctly or not. This also encourages feedback from the students, especially
if they are working in a group assignment. Students need to be able to learn at
the same pace so they do not fall behind, this also encourages those students ahead
to help those who have fallen behind and encourage them to catch up. Despite it
being a tool that is available online It makes learning easier because of the tools
available for editing. Again, Feedback is essential so students can understand
how they are doing in the classroom. Without feedback a student can never know
how if he or she is doing a good job or not. This is the main point of google
drive. As teachers it has to be part of our arsenal of tools in our classroom.
We need to manage our time very effectively so that we do not lose time for
important lessons. Time is important in every classroom no matter what the
grade, Google Drive will save you a lot of valuable time and if you master it,
you will be able to make your life easier in the classroom, as well as your
students.
Hello Fredrick,
ResponderBorrarYour statement that "Google Drive can make your life easier in the classroom, as well as your students." is one that I certainly attest to. I have used google drive in my classroom for the past three school years for many purposes; ranging from using it for a daily class agenda for students/parents/guardians to creating lesson plans to teaching my students how to use it as a word processing tool for writing papers. By not only showing but also allowing my students with ongoing opportunities to incorporate google drive as a web tool to assist with their educational endeavors, I can definitely say it has helped me to become a better teacher and my students to become more academically independent.
Hola Frederick: I admire you a lot for what you expressed in this blog that looks very interesting. I also like to use Google Docs, because is a lot of time save and has tools that you can use it in the every day life. The spreadsheet is a form that has all the instruments that can be used in the school system and has a lot of power. Excellent Job!
ResponderBorrarHello Frederick,
